Washington Parish Sheriff Jason Smith announces that beginning March 18, 2026, all sheriff’s sales will be conducted online using a secure internet auction platform facilitated through the Bid4Assets website.

“Moving sheriff’s sales to an online platform allows us to make the process more accessible, promote transparency and encourage greater participation from potential buyers,” Sheriff Jason Smith said "Greater participation can lead to stronger sale results, which benefits property owners, lenders and the overall economic health of our community.”

A $1,000 deposit is required to bid. This deposit will be applied toward your purchase price, refunded to you at your request if you are not the winning bidder, or left in your account for future auctions. Deposits are due 7 days prior to auction date. If you miss this deadline, contact Bid4Assets.com to request an exception.
